I have been a great fan of shopping. Even if I try to control it by scheduling, I can’t stop myself from purchasing if I find the product worth my money. However, there are items or goods that we find very interesting, yet it is only available in the web. Most often than not, we just leave it there. There is no way to shop in that matter. We fear that our credit card information will fall to the wrong hands. We might end up having bigger problems, than the problem of not being able to buy the product we like.
Interestingly, I find a better way to deal with it through the use of virtual credit cards also known as as substitute credit card numbers or controlled payment numbers. Honestly, it is the first time I have heard about it even if it has been around for quite sometime.
The discovery of it is very good. Now, I am assured my identity is protected. How virtual credit cards work? Well, first I just have to sign up for the program like entropay. Then, enter the credit card info, and generate a new number whenever you want to make an online purchase. I find it very easy. I can now pay without having to reveal my financial details.
My account information is only visible to me and the bank. The merchant where I pay will never see my number and can’t retain my information in his database. All it means, hackers will have no chance to use my information as they only see temporary numbers.
However, I would still prefer to use virtual prepaid cards. Just like the usual days, I would rather use money that I have than having to borrow. That way I will only contend myself to what is available. Why? Sometimes I forget that I am overspending and I am paying a lot of interests because of that.
